Gipf

GIPF is a pure and challenging strategic game for two players that combines classic gameplay with completely new elements. In turns, players introduce one piece into play until achieving four-in-a-row. Then they remove their row and capture any of their opponents pieces which extend along that row. Ultimately, the purpose is to form successive rows of at least four pieces, until the opponent has no piece left to bring to play. Yet, GIPF is more than a mere stand-alone, as it is a key component to a series of inter-connecting games that introduce both new strategies and additional game pieces. Each game of the projected series is playable either separately, or, by means of the extra pieces, in combination with GIPF.
